Obituary

Charles Arthur Weaver II, age 77 of Franklin, IN passed away on March 21, 2025 following a short battle with prostate cancer, surrounded by his loving family at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Charles, known to most as Charlie, was born April 19, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Charles Arthur Weaver and Vivian Carol (Fiddler) Weaver Meggenhofen.

Charlie graduated Warren Central High School in 1967. He went on to serve stateside in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Shortly after his discharge, Charlie worked as a Test Cell Technician at Allison Transmission Inc. for over 40 years and retired from Allison Transmission in 2016.

Charlie had always loved riding horses on his dad's farm. In fact, he and his riding group often went to Branson, MO for trail-rides. Charlie's beloved horse was a Morgan named Tarkington (Tark).

Charlie and Wanda (Magill) Weaver had been married for over 25 years at his death. Charlie, stepdad to Nicholas Aaron Davidson, was known as Papa to their 3 grandsons, Aaron Michael, Isaiah Joseph, and Gabriel Andrew.

Charlie was a member of Whiteland church of Christ at his death. He loved participating in VBS skits and supporting the Easter Egg Hunt.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Arthur Weaver and Vivian Carol Meggenhofen; as well, his father-in-law Harold Eugene Magill.

Remaining to cherish Charlie's memory is his spouse Wanda; stepson Nick, grandsons Aaron, Isaiah and Gabe; his brother Ken (Carol) Weaver of Frankfort, IN; his brother-in-law Don Magill of Homosassa, FL and his sister Karen Raub of Brown County, IN and his sister-in-law Frances (Mark) Sloan of Loudon, TN, as well, Charlie is survived by his mother-in-law Belle Shirley and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, great nephews and his beloved 3-year old pup, Bear.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Whiteland church of Christ with the service following visitation. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
