On Thursday, January 16th, 2020, loving wife and mother Christa Ward passed away after a short illness at the age of 72.

Christa was born on June 22nd, 1947 in Karlsruhe Germany to Hans and Lieselotte Happle. She married Cecil Ward on September 24th, 1965 and they spent 54 years by each others sides. They raised 2 children, Mary and Robert as well as a loving addition to their family Kett Demoranville.

She attended school in Karlsruhe Germany and came to the United States in 1965. She proudly obtained her GED from Center Grove High School. Christa was a homemaker and remained home caring for her children until 1979 when she began working at Meridian Middle School. After leaving there she spent 22 years working as a Merchandise Specialist at Sears in Greenwood until her retirement in 2014.

Christa had a passion for fishing she shared with her husband, kids and grandkids. She loved spending time with her friends, going to casinos and traveling to various locations on different adventures.

Christa was preceeded in death by her brother in law, William Hines and grandson Kevin Wade.

Christa is survived by her husband Cecil, her three children, Mary (Kevin Weddle) Ward , Robert (Petra) Ward and Kett (Amy) Demoranville, her sister Beate Hines, grandchildren Dustin, Kerstin Wade, Brandon, Christian, Hunter, Colin, Cecilia, Madison, Gideon, Anderson and Hayden as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held with family at a later time and place to be determined.
