Christina "June" Duke, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away May 29, 2013.
The daughter of Frank and Blanch McCorkle Pearce, June was born June 12, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a retired telephone operator with L. S. Ayres. During World War II, she worked for RCA. June enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends and was an avid fan of westerns, especially those movies with John Wayne.
Services 1:30 p.m. June 3, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
June is survived by son, Robin (Cindy) Duke of Indianapolis; daughter, Sue (Brent) Coen of Wimberley, Texas; sister, Esther Ulrey of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Thomas Duke, Karrie Duke, Natosha Lucas and Nicole Lucas; nine great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blonville; brothers, Clayton and Dalton Pearce; sisters, Juanita Matheson and Carol Primrose.
