Clarence L. Birchem, age 72, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 with his loving family nearby. He was born January 15, 1940 in Portsmouth, OH to Louis and Hazel (Wyant) Birchem.

Clarence graduated from Minford High School in Ohio with the Class of 1958. He was a U.S. Army veteran and he was a forklift driver for P.M. Company for many years. He married the former Linda Collins on July 22, 1961 in Porstmouth, OH and she survives him. Clarence was an avid restorer of Ford Torinos and Galaxie 500s as well as collecting Avon glassware. He also loved to play the piano.

Clarence is also survived by his daughter, Cathy (Matthew) Douglas of Mooresville, IN; son, Andrew Birchem of Indianapolis; brothers, Ronald and Kenneth Birchem of Minford, OH; sister, Donna (Luther) Alley of Lucasville, OH; grandchildren, Collin and Peyton Birchem and Alex Douglas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
