Claude E. Armstrong, age 88, of Indianapolis, passed away August 21, 2013 at his residence with his family at his side. He was born July 26, 1925 in Bunker Hill, IN to Harry J. and Edna Armstrong.
He was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School Class of 1943. Claude was a truck driver for Hook''s Drugs for over 25 years.
On June 15, 1959 he married the former Essie Parrish and she preceded him in death in March, 2006. He and Essie attended New Harmony Baptist Church and were very active in church. They managed a bus route for many years at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church. Claude was also an usher at Calvary Temple Assembly of God. During his later years, he attended Mt. Calvary Evangelistic Center.
Claude is survived by his sons, Terry and Phillip (Angela) Armstrong of Indianapolis; brother, Gary Armstrong of Bunker Hill; sisters Betty Conlin and Peggy Gruel of Kempton, IN; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
