Cleo M. Merritt, age 72, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 with her family at her side. Cleo was born May 19, 1942 in Jasper, IN to Paul and Mary (Bradley) Strange. She graduated from St. Mary of the Woods High School with the Class of 1960. She was the Co-Owner of The Dugout for many years. Cleo was a very generous person and she loved to help and contribute to various charities. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Indianapolis and was a major supporter of their Giving Tree.

Cleo is survived by her sons, Joe (Linda) Merritt, Bob Merritt, and Tony (Linda) Merritt; daughter, Leigh (Doug) Lemmons; brothers, Paul and Joe (Sue) Strange; sister, Linda Hunter; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Maggie, Betty, Bert and Carol.

A Mass and Celebration of Life service will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, September 20, 2014 with Mass at 1:00 p.m. and Celebration from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church Giving Tree Fund, 520 Stevens St., Indianapolis, IN 46203.
