Clovis H. Jones, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at his home. Clovis was born to the late Willie F. and Effie Mae Knight Jones in Lafayette, TN on June 30, 1922. Clovis worked 20 years on the dock at Commercial Trucking. He did retire as a member of the Teamsters. He served our country in the US Army. Clovis married Katherine Marie Raymer Jones on August 6, 1967 and she precedes. Surviving are four sons and daughter inlaws: Ronnie and Polly Jones, Willie and Debbie Jones, David and Shelia Willis, and Robert and Sheral Miller. Four daughters and son inlaws: Sherron and Michael Myers, Stephanie and Richard England, Sue Grace and Carol and Larry Fletcher. One sister inlaw: Helen Gilliand. Two brothers and sister inlaw: Travis M. Jones and Max and Gloria Wix. He is preceded by two brothers: James O. and Jessie G. Jones. One sister: Lois Bednarz. One son inlaw: Robert Grace. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, Indiana 46143. Memorials may be given to the St. Francis Hospice.
