Connie Jean Chaney, age 65, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 with her loving family at her side. She was born May 5, 1947 in Indianapolis to Granville and Pauline (Blankenship) Thompson. She was a graduate of Center Grove High School, Class of 1965. Connie was a cashier at Greenwood Ford for many years and was also a secretary and cashier at a number of local retail stores. Connie was an avid reader who also loved shopping, sewing, doing crafts, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

She married J. Daryel Chaney on December 22, 1995 and he survives her along with her children, Rhonda (Bret) Chaney, Chris (Jon) Goetcheus, Bobby (Tammie) Newkirk, Ty Chaney, and Clayton (Amanda) Chaney; brothers, Steve (Beverly), Tim (Jennie), Terry (Gail) and Ron Thompson; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bob Thompson, her dog, Gracie and her cat, Cricket.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
