Curtis E. Shadday, 93, of Bargersville, passed away September 30, 2012. The son of Ulie and Elsie Steele Shadday, Curtis was born December 4, 1918 in Vevay, Indiana.
Curtis graduated salutatorian of his graduating class, excelling in math. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. For 20+ years, he worked as a draftsman for Allison Transmission.
He was involved with the American Legion and the Bargersville Senior Citizens. Curtis was an avid woodworker, played golf, loved to read and enjoyed gardening.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012. Entombment with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
Curtis is survived by is daughter-in-law, Linda L. Shadday; grandsons, Christopher A. and Gregory A. Shadday; stepsons, Ray and "Butch" Stanfield; brother, Harold Shadday. Besides his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his wives, Alberta Burzlaff Shadday and Marguerite Shadday; son, Michael C. Shadday and stepsisters, Peggy Eastridge and Patty Shoemaker.
