Dakota Cordell, 69, of Franklin and previously Los Indios, Texas passed away March 25, 2018. He was born September 24, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN to Leonard and Maryann (White) Hendrickson.

Dakota Cordell aka Dennis Hendrickson graduated from Whiteland Community High School. He was a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW Local 481 and was a previous member of the Free Masons and Murat Shriners. He proudly served his country in The United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Dakota was a dance competition skater at Franklin Skate Club in his youth. Dakota loved his family and friends as well as his beloved horses, Utah and Pirate.

Dakota is preceded in death by his mother, Maryann (White) Hendrickson; brother, Dan Hendrickson and father, Leonard Hendrickson. Dakota is survived by his daughters, Denise (Rob) Norrington of Riverview, FL, Corissa (Michaels) Howell of Franklin, IN and Amanda Lerma of Rossville, GA; brother, Shawn (Divonna) Hendrickson; grandchildren, Dauna, Desiree, Bethany, Nathan, Marissa, Sierra, Seth, Giovanni, Isabella, Matthew, Maggie, Ethan and Levi; 8 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
