Mr. Dale Alvin Stephey, Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was 83. Dale was born September 14, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of the late Wayne Arthur and Muriel Rebecca (Allen) Stephey.

Dale attended George Washington High School in Indianapolis and had been employed at Grady Brothers Asphalt Company and retired after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 120 as well as the Sons of the American Legion in Indianapolis. Dale enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He also spent some of his spare time watching old western movies and working in his garage. Dale was an outdoorsman and always enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his brother, Lee. He had a Sir Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Gizmo, whom he loved dearly.

Dale is survived by his brother, Lee (Diane) Stephey and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife, Olive Catherine Stephey and his brothers, Wayne Allen Stephey and R.B. Stephey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
