Turner
Apr 19, 1955 — Sep 24, 2021
Indianapolis
Dan Turner, 66, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on September 24, 2021.
Dan was born on April 19, 1955, in Indianapolis, IN, to Emory and Martha (Meredith) Turner. He was preceded in death by Emory Turner, Janet Turner, and Martha Meredith. He is survived by siblings Tim Turner, Polly (Turner) Shingleton, children David (Heather)Turner, Greg (Alicia) Turner, Paul (Lindsey) Turner, and Melody (Trevor) Anderson and 13 grandchildren.
Dan graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1973 and received an associates degree from Indiana Business College. He worked at Eli Lilly for 20 years until his retirement in August 2021.
He was a faithful member of Indianapolis Baptist Temple for over 50 years and sang in the church choir for many of those years. He would also, on occasion, sing in a quartet with his 3 sons.
Dan enjoyed reading, talking, Pacers and ABA basketball, talking, politics and history, talking, Southern Gospel music, talking, spending time with his grandchildren, talking, attending sports games, and last but not least, talking.
He was a believer in Jesus Christ and is with our Savior. Because of our hope in Christ, we know we will all see him again some day soon. Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began." We also know that if he could tell us anything one more time, he would definitely say to us, "Smell ya later!"
