Obituary

.

David Charles Dungan, 46, died suddenly at home December 27, 2021. David was a big man with a soft heart who went out o f his way to help others .  After graduating Madison Consolidated High School in Madison, Indiana, he moved to various locations, including Pittsburgh & Chapel Hill . He attended Durham Technical Community College.

Returning home to Indianapolis , he found work at McDonalds where co-workers agreed it was never a boring shift when he was there. He knew crew member policies by heart & made sure rules were followed while still enjoying the job. From w orking in th e ride-sharing industry to delivering food or construction items, David was always available to drive a friend where they needed to go. He was a great cook with a specialty fudge & could also be found in polish sausage food st and s at state fairs from Indiana to North Carolina. Being security at a local pub gave him opportunity to shoot some pool & soak in some music.

Smart , with a quick wit, David was a known prankster . He was delighted when he "g o t" you with his imagination & sill iness. If his humor was off color, social media jail was a pen alty he disliked . Part Native American, David was Ojibwe (Chippewa). He embraced this heritage.

A fan of NASCAR ( Jimmie Johnson ) , NFL (Colts ) & animals (Sunny a bearded dragon), David kept company with his cat, Bonnie , as well as geckos & tarantulas . He was a Halloween enthusiast taking pleasure in haunted houses, driving a hay wagon, costumes, spooky movies, & good scares.

The light in David's life was his beloved son, 12 year old David. He took joy in playing & talking & forming a bond full of l aughter & love. Those who will miss this funny & incredibly dear person include his sons David Charles Jr., David Satterfield, twin sister Rebecca Dungan (Crystal Phillips) , nephew William Coy, Holly & Karen Irwin, Kelly & D ana Bradbury & many friends . Arrangements to be announced at a later date.
