David R. Edwards, 57, of Indianapolis passed away September 10, 2018. He was born May 12, 1961 to Wayman O. Edwards and Opal (Tackett) Butterworth.

David was a hardworking man who loved and was dedicated to taking care of his family. He was also a handyman who would fix things for family and friends when needed. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pap". To his granddaughter, Caroline, grandpa was #1! In earlier years he enjoyed watching his son play sports.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Orvis Edwards, Earl Edwards, Danny Edwards and Leroy Brown and grandson, Elijah David Gray.

David is survived by his loving wife of 36 ½ years, Regina Edwards; son, Jimmie D. Edwards; daughter, Misti A. (Mark) Hall; brother, Randy C. Edwards; grandchildren, Caroline Donette Gray and Jackson Michael Duffer and mother and father in law, Jimmie D. McClain and Genive McClain.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
