Mr. David Lee McCormick, of Indianapolis, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, December 16, 2020, surrounded by the dedicated staff and caregivers at his extended care facility. David was born August 2, 1956 in Beech Grove, Indiana one of six children born to George and Lillie (LaForce) McCormick.
David is survived by his daughter, Brittany McCormick; mother, Lillie McCormick; his siblings, Steven Joseph (Rita) McCormick, Ruth (Robert) Wodarcyk and Lisa McCormick Houze; sister-in-law, Joyce McCormick as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
David was preceded in passing by his father, George McCormick and his brothers, Michael McCormick and Robert McCormick.
David's greatest accomplishments and passions in life were being a father to his only daughter Brittany and sports. He enjoyed watching games live and on television, especially football…Go Bears!!!! He also enjoyed playing baseball, co-ed softball, golf, basketball, bowling and anything else that involved a ball. When not watching or playing sports, he enjoyed watching television, fishing and playing Euchre with friends.
A special thank you to the nurses and support staff at the Memory Care Cottage unit at Rosegate Assisted Living in Indianapolis for their loving care during these past several months. Brittany would also like to extend her sincerest gratitude to David's sister, Ruth and her family, for all their help throughout the difficult times as David's health declined.
Services will be conducted at 7:00pm, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Mickey Roy officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
