David Andrew Moore, age 64, of Plainfield, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born February 23, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Herman and Joann (Miller) Moore. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in the Class of 1965. David served two tours in Viet Nam as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and was awarded six Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with a "V" for Valor. He attended Irvington 7th Day Adventist Church. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 440 for 40 years, the last ten years with Bowen Engineering. David was an avid fisherman, sports fan, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He married the former Sharon Miles and she survives along with sons, Michael (Maria) Snyder, of Nineveh, IN and Jerry Snyder, of Morgantown, IN; daughters, Daphne (Snyder) Hall, of Columbus, OH, Rachel and Reagan Moore, both of Indianapolis and Sharon Ruth Moore, of Minnesota; brothers, Mike (Maxine) Moore, of Plainfield and Glenn Fox, of Indianapolis; sister, Maryanne (Ronnie) Abbott, of Mooresville, IN; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 28, at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
