David L. Ward, 73 of Camby, IN passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by his family.  David  was born on April 10, 1951, in Oneida, KY to the late Hasco and Hazel Ward.

David graduated from Harry E. Wood High School, and later in life obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University.  David joined the National Guard in the early 1970's, and was stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana.  David was a business professional and worked at Indiana National Bank, Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield and retired from CNO Financial where he was a Director of Contracts.

In his spare time, David loved the outdoors and was very passionate about bass fishing.  Also in his early years, David was a member of a local Bass Fishing Club based out of Indianapolis, IN.  He also enjoyed hunting mushrooms in the springtime and in the fall enjoyed hunting for deer with his late uncle, Edward Grubb, and his son, Shawn Ward and with his grandsons.  David loved to collect sports cards with his son, Matthew Ward, and also enjoyed collecting coins.  David thoroughly enjoyed rooting for his favorite college football team, Notre Dame.

David is survived by his two sons Shawn (Stacie) Ward and Matthew (Rachel) Ward; four Grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas, Maggie, and Charlie Ward.  David is also survived his great grandson, Roman Ward.  He is also survived by his four siblings James (Donna) Ward, Gary (Nikki) Ward, Paul (Shirley) Ward and Paula Ward. He is preceded in death by both parents, Hasco and Hazel Ward and his sister Bonnie Terhune.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 to the public at 3:00PM - 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 beginning with visitation from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, with funeral services to begin at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the services.
