October 11, 1960 – March 11, 2023
Mrs. Debora Elaine Hyatt, Martinsville, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was 62. Debbie was born October 11, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Robert Andrew Gant and Sarah Kay (Stephens) Gant.
Debbie attended Emmerich Manual High School and had been employed with CTP as an Inspector for three years until retiring in July 2021. Previously, she was employed with EMS also as an Inspector and had been employed there for over 20 years until the plant's closing.
Debbie liked photography, flower gardening and playing the lottery. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved sitting on her patio and having cookouts with her family. A music lover, she especially enjoyed listening to Bob Seger and Aerosmith. Debbie was a down-to-earth lady and had an easy-going personality. She will be missed.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Marty Hyatt; her children, Melissa (George) Novak, Michelle (Jeremy) McMichael, Jason (Angie) Hyatt, Anna Feldman and James Hyatt (fiancé, Megan Reynolds); her mother, Sarah Gant; 12 grandchildren; her siblings, Robert (Honey) Gant, Brenda Harper, Darcy (Bill) Mc Donough and Frank (Teresa Fulk) Gant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Debbie is preceded in passing by her father, Robert Gant and her Aunt Velma Carmichael.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Mark Petty officiating. She will be inurned at a later date at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society.
