Deborah Lynn
Bowling
December 4, 2021
Deborah Lynn (Kelley) Bowling went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2021 after a well fought battle with cancer. Regardless of the suffering Deborah endured, she always faced her battle head on with dignity. She was an inspiration to the nurses and family that cared for her. Deborah is the late daughter of Russell Eugene Kelley and Shirley Ann (Smith) Kelley of Lawrence, Indiana. Deborah was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her late husband, Michael Allen Bowling. She is survived by her step daughter, Claire Becraft of Nashville, Indiana, Her sister, Pamela (Michael) Stevens of San Jose, California, nephews Kelley and Cory Stevens of San Jose, California, William Fox of Nashville, Indiana, and her beloved cats, Pebbles and Little Bit.
Deborah and Michael made their home in the small town that they loved- Nineveh, Indiana- for nearly 30 years. Prior to marrying, Deborah traveled extensively, bowled, and shared many adventures with her dear friends. She was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. She loved being outdoors, gardening, and dining out at various restaurants. Deborah was a prolific knitter and made hundreds of hats for the needy during her lifetime; along with numerous blankets for friends and family.
Before retiring in October of 2019, Deborah worked for The Atterbury Job Corps where she found great joy in helping her students succeed and find gainful employment. Deborah also spent 20 years working in the insurance industry. Deborah's work ethic and compassion for her students was an example to us all.
Deborah will be missed by everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to The Brown County Humane Society to help animals in need like the two precious cats Deborah adopted from the facility.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Brown County Inns' Woodland room on Saturday December 18, 2021 located at: 51 State Road 46 Nashville, Indiana 47448.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 10:30AM-12PM, followed by a brief service at Noon. Internment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
