Debra Joan Jordan, affectionately known as "Debbie," passed away peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the age of 69. Debbie was born May 23, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a cherished daughter of the late Richard H. and Joan Irene (Rose) Jordan.
Debbie grew up in Indianapolis, where she attended Southport High School, graduating with the Class of 1973. She pursued higher education at Ball State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in 1977.
Debbie had worked for various businesses throughout her professional career. Those included her most recent position as a secretary at WISH-TV8 in Indianapolis, where she was known for her dedication and warm personality. She had also worked for Hewlitt-Packard. In her mid-40's, she graduated from a two-year course in Massage Therapy and started her own business with clients coming to her store front location. Before her retirement, she worked for several years in Home Healthcare Services, assisting area senior citizens.
A devoted member of LifePoint Church in Indianapolis, Debbie's faith was an important part of her life. She found great joy in reading her Bible and actively participating in church activities. In her leisure time, Debbie was an avid quilter, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. She also had a deep love for her dog, Bo, who was a constant companion and source of comfort.
Debbie is survived by her beloved sister, Connie (David) Guyon. She was a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews, Sarah (Paul) Gerrish, Andrea Elstro and Matt (Jessica) Guyon, as well as her eight great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in passing by her brother, Ken Jordan in 2019. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, who will miss her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Debbie will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution in Debbie's memory, the family has suggested those be offered to any Animal Rescue organization or any local Humane Society.
