Delia "Dee" M. Sparkmon, Greenwood, IN, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was 95 years old and a long time resident of Beech Grove, IN. Dee was born in Dixon, KY to her parents Chester and Gracie Haleman.  Dee married her husband, James Sparkmon, on December 31, 1969, and they shared 26 years of marriage together until James passed away on June 3, 1995.
Dee worked as a nurse's aide for St. Francis Hospital in the early sixties before becoming a homemaker for her family. Dee was a longtime attendant of the Faith Assembly of God Church. She was a Godfearing woman who took comfort in the gospel. Dee enjoyed listening to gospel music, completing word searches, and finishing puzzles. She loved her family and will be dearly missed for her reserved and private nature.
Dee is survived by her children, Deborah (Charl) Miller, Becky (Dave) May, and James "Bo" (Donna) Sparkmon; her several grandchildren; her several great grandchildren; her several great great grandchildren.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her son, Dan Mays; her grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Miller and James "Jimmy" Mays.
A visitation for Dee will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
