Dennis A. Cress, 81 of Franklin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was born to the late Charles and Lila Cress.

Dennis was a member of the Jubilee Lodge #746 in Whiteland, the American Legion 252 and FOP 86. Dennis was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He was an IMPD officer for 20 years. Dennis loved to shoot, fish, spending time with family and watching NASCAR. He was an Packer and Yankees fan. Dennis loved attending the retiree's meetings at the FOP 86. Dennis enjoyed attending breakfast at the Masonic Lodge.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years Helen Cress; four children Deirdre Bauer, Denise (Kent) Kline, John Allen (Toshea) Cress and Amanda Cress; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is proceeded in death by both parents; three brothers and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Dennis will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with full military honors.
