IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis Dale
Glover, Sr.
April 10, 1947 – November 9, 2023
Mr. Dennis Dale Glover Sr., Columbus, went Home to be with the Lord on the early morning of Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was 76. Dennis was born on April 10th, 1947, at home near Auburn, Kentucky. He was one of nine children born to Gladys Louise (Crafton) Glover. His father was Hubert Glover.
Dennis attended George Washington High School in Indianapolis and was a member of the graduating class of 1966. He earned an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and shortly thereafter began a career that spanned over 30 years at Eli Lilly & Company, serving in management, until retirement in 1999.
Dennis loved the Lord and had been a member of Grace Baptist Church in Greenwood where he served in various areas of ministry. Throughout the years while attending in different area churches, Dennis also served as a trustee, drove a church bus, and sang the bass part in choir. Dennis enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to and singing Southern Gospel Music. Dennis spent much of his leisure time playing golf and bowling in the company leagues and hunting and fishing. He was also a gifted handyman who could repair most anything. He also enjoyed watching The Voice and America's Got Talent on TV. He was an accomplished photographer and especially enjoyed taking photos of nature and wildlife. He was also an animal lover, particularly of his dogs. Dennis would tell you his greatest achievement was his family. He enthusiastically supported and attended all of his family's events and dearly loved his family. Dennis is survived by his only child, Dennis (Heather 'Rund') Glover, Jr.; his grandchildren, Alyssa (Hector) Chavez and Gabriel (Nani) Glover; his great-grandson, Tony Chavez; his sisters, Estelle Britt, Louise Bowman and Connie Dean, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife of nearly 48 years, Sandra Jane (Burton) Glover; his siblings, Albert Anderson, Sam Anderson, Jr., Roger Glover, Linda Johnson and Teresa Sims
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Rev. Gene Rund officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
