Dennis Michael "Mike" Hensley, age 67, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1945 in Indianapolis to Roy and Alice (Rose) Hensley. Mike was a U.S.Army veteran of Vietnam and he worked at Ford Motor Co. for over 30 years. He attended Franklin 1st Assembly of God Church and was an avid fan of drag racing his own cars and the sport itself.

He married the former Mary Lou Shambaugh on June 22, 1966 in Greenwood and she survives along with sons, Jimmy and Roy Hensley of Indianapolis; one sister, Phyllis Paul) Pruitt of Greenwood and two grandchildren, Shawn and Jocelyn Hensley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
