Devon Sullivan Underwood, age 39, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Greenwood, passed away March 19, 2011.He was born September 9, 1971 to Gary B. Underwood and Anne (Cox) Spicer. Survivors include his parents; "daughter", Dezi; sister, Nicci (Dan) Fravel; niece, Alexis; nephew, Daniel; grandmother Beatrice Sullivan (Cox); stepfather, Stan R. Spicer; step grandparents, Stanley (Audrey) Spicer; Aunt Diana (Jim) Everroad. Uncles, Larry, Michael, Jerry Underwood; aunts, Brenda Bertel, Sharon Chandler, Michelle Guitzweller, Sherry Henry and Sherry Lynn Underwood. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonzo and Beatrice Underwood, James E. Cox, and special cousin Shad E. Kaufman. Devon started working in the auto industry at age 16. Devon accepted Christ as a child and like so many others, he struggled with things in life. His sister Nicci said, "In heaven, I believe he will be a great warrior for Christ and do mighty things". He had a variety of interests. He enjoyed fishing, especially off the Gulf Bay in Englewood, Florida. For him now, seeing us again will be in "the wink of an eye". Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 29 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral home, Greenwood with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time.
