Dewey Junior Wood "Woody", 84, of Plainfield passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020.  He was born July 22, 1935 in Norfolk, Virginia to Jeremiah P. and Sara Frances (Davidson) Wood.

Woody was a hard-working, kind-hearted, ornery fella who loved his Lord, his family, singing, and his soulmate, Sharon Shidler.  When Woody was younger, he was a volunteer firefighter.  He was always singing with a band somewhere.  He was full of life and loved every minute of it.

Woody is survived by his companion, Sharon Shidler; children, Teresa Armstrong, Dewana Vaughn, Althea (Tommy) Konrad, Lee (Bob) Blankenship, and Brian Wood; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Hazel Doris "Dottie" Reynolds; his first wife, Clara Michaels; and a special friend, Barbara Shelton.

In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Wood; and grandson, Craig Allan Harlan.

Family will receive friends Thursday, July 2 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135. Greenwood, IN  46143 with service to follow at 2:00pm.
