Dolores Genrich, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was 81 years old. Dolores was born in Hammond, IN to her parents Anthony and Betty Goray She graduated from Thorton Fractional North High School, Class of 1961. Dolores married her husband, Leroy "Lee' Genrich, in 1961 and they shared 62.5 years of marriage together.
Dolores was a homemaker and will be renowned for her excellence as a wife, mother, and grandmother for many years to come. Dolores was a member of Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church with her husband for 50 years. Dolores participated in Daughters of Mary and Mercy Meals through her church for many years. Dolores loved ceramics and was known to share her creative creations with her friends and family. Dolores had an impressive green thumb and enjoyed gardening the flowers that grew near her home. She loved travelling with her husband. She loved to visit family and friends; especially for holiday celebrations or to just play cards. Dolores was also a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. Dolores was known to enjoy going on shopping sprees and will be remembered for her fashion sense and style. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Dolores is survived by her children Lorie (Paul) Nagy, David (Mona) Genrich, Dawn Mehringer, Robert (Leah) Genrich and Scott (Melissa) Genrich; her 11 grandchildren her 9 great grandchildren.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Genrich; her brother, Richard Goray.
A visitation for Dolores will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm The funeral service will be on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 12:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:30 pm.
