Dolores "Lola" Barrera-Martinez, age 55, died at 9:25pm Wednesday, June 10th at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood. Born August 14, 1953, she was the daughter of Benito and Marcella (Leiva) Barrera. Lola retired in 2005 from the U.S. Postal Service where she worked as a processing clerk for 26 years. She loved cooking and dancing along with bingo, music, popcorn and Diet Pepsi. Lola especially adored her two daughters and grandson. Survivors include her ex-husband, Mauro "Ruben" Martinez; two daughters, Lisa (Dennis, Jr.) Tharp and Angelica Martinez.; Her grandson Ethan Tharp; 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Lola was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Services will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
