Donald Phillip Byers, 81, was born on June 5th, 1938 to Carl and Mary Byers in Bedford, IN.  Donald graduated from Monrovia High School in 1957 and joined the United States Marine Corp, which he left in 1960.

Shortly after leaving, Donald met his wife, Sandra Jo Taylor.  They were married within 4 months of meeting and just celebrated their 59th year of marriage.  Donald and Sandra had two children together; Carol Ann (1962) and Brian Matthew (1967). Throughout Don's life, he was a hard worker who would always help and care for others, He was the very first EMT of the Perry Township Fire Deportment, and volunteered there daily. Donald worked for Chevrolet for many years before joining Sandra at Von Duprin, Inc., from where they both retired after 30 years.  Following Donald's retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, frequent golf outings, and playing on his computer.

Donald was a man of great faith in God and passed that faith on to his family.  He was proud of the fact that he took a trip to the Holy Land with Emmanuel Church and was able to be baptized in the Jordan River.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sandra Jo, daughter Carol Ann Sella (Perry J. Sella) and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Devney Byers (Brian Byers).  He will be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren; Nathan Weaver (Lisa). Jacob Weaver (Margaret), Kristin Tallman (Eric), Tiffany Sella, Stephanie Johnson (Cody), Joshua Byers (Brittany), Jessica Edwards, Meaghan Haines (Connor) and his great-grandchildren; Mikayla, Parker, Zoe, Perrie, Samantha, Carson, Amelia, and Quinn.  Donald is also survived by his brother, Larry David Byers (Del), Donald was preceded in death by his son, Brian Matthew Byers who passed away from metastatic melanoma in 2016.
