Donald Lee Carter, 77, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away January 4, 2017. The son of Warren and Ada Mae Hollars Cook, Donald was born September 7, 1939 in Indianapolis.

Donald served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Janet K. Federstill Carter of Las Vegas; sons, James P. (Dee) Carter of Brownsburg, Warren L. (Karla) Carter of High Grove, CA and Brian C. Carter of Indianapolis; daughters, Michelle E. (Michael) Beard of Hazelton, IN and Melody M. Owen of Indianapolis; sister, Nancy Ronetta Simon of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services 1:00 p.m. January 12, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Entombment with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
