Donald R. Cole, Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of October 5, 2022. He was 82 years old. Donald was born in Beattyville, KY to his parents Robert Cole and Rose Begley. Donald met his wife Patricia (Duke) Cole and were married on September 1, 1960 and shared 62 beautiful years of marriage together.
Donald worked for Chrysler UAW and retired to go on to start his own business, Don's Amusement. He provided jukeboxes and arcade games to local businesses for 32 years before ultimately retiring in 2008. Donald had a passion for driving and maintaining his 1957 Chevy. He also enjoyed traveling around the country in Prevost buses with his wife. Donald is survived by his wife, Pat (Bird) Cole; his children Debra Cole and Tamra (Shawn Harris) Burtner; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Ricky) Grimes and Tyler Steward; his great grandchildren, Callen Grimes, Austin Grimes, and Meadow Steward; several nieces and nephews; beloved furry friend, Reese the dog.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his great grandson, Carter Grimes; his 5 siblings.
The family will receive friends from 9am to 11am on October 12,2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the visitation at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Donald's honor to Love, Lucas, a non-profit organization that provides emotional, financial, and spiritual support to families suffering infant or pregnancy loss .
