Donald Dale Collins, Danville, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. He was 88 years old. Dale was born in Alfordsville, IN, to his parents, Roland and Edith Collins. He graduated from Alfordsville High School. Dale married his wife, Nancy (White) Collins, in Gary, IN, in 1964, and they shared 62 years of marriage together. Dale answered the call of this nation by enlisting into the United States Army and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged.

Dale worked as an independent contractor in drywall installation for the IU Pat Union for many years. Dale retired in 2007 after over 40 years of service. Dale was a member of Bread of Life Church with his wife for the last ten years. Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He had many opportunities to travel the world with his wife during their time in a choir ministry; they were able to visit Germany, Switzerland, Vienna, Bucharest and many more. Dale was known to wind down at the end of long days listening to Christian music and spending time with his beloved family. Dale will be remembered for his family-oriented nature, loving personality, and quick-witted humor. His ever-present kindness and gentle spirit will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.

Dale is survived by his wife, Nancy Collins; his children, Cathy Jo (Darren) Messick, Ginger Lynn (Leonard) Murrell, and Mary Ann (Jim) Baker; his grandchildren, Morgan Messick, Madison (Cody) Gray, Sarah (Thomas) Berry, Jordan (Emily) Rice, Ricky (Sami) Rice, Kay (Josh) Marsh, Thadeus (Anna) Starsiak, Jessie Starsiak, Joshua (Kiersten) Baker, Wesley (Tori) Baker and Evan (Lilia) Baker; his great grandchildren, Lila Jo, Sophia, Bella, Ember, Remmie, Kaden, Julie, Chrissy, Jamiella, and Jasper; his brother, Ray (Dixie) Collins.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Norma Jean Collins; his siblings, Ralph Collins and Gerane Cagle.

A time of fellowship for Dale will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Bread of Life Church (7510 E. County Road 100 N, Avon, IN, 46123) from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The celebration of life service will be on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow on Friday, July 31, 2026, for immediate family only, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 9:30 am.
