Donald E. Dicken, 79, of Franklin passed away September 30, 2016. He was born in Osco, KY on January 25, 1937 to Willie E. and Martha E. (Conner) Dicken.

Donald married Patricia Diane Schrotberger in Silver Springs, Maryland on September 5, 1964. Don was a U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Three, with 23 ½ years of service with tours of duty all over the world, including Viet-nam, retiring in October 1979. He also worked for the Kawneer Architectural Company in Franklin as anodizing supervisor and maintenance supervisor, retiring in August 1992. He also worked for ten years at the Franklin United Methodist Community in transportation. Don enjoyed bowling, basketball, football and wrestling and going to auctions. He was a caring, friendly, witty and courageous man who loved life and lived it to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James D. Dicken and Johnny M. Dicken and two sisters, Mary L. James and Leta J. Relken.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; son, Donald P. Dicken of Franklin; four daughters, Teresa L. Bair of Franklin, Michelle A. Yates of Franklin, Cynthia M. Aldridge of Franklin and Valerie Kormick of Wyoming; three brothers, Paul L. (Susie) Dicken of Franklin, Charles W. (Cathy) Dicken of Franklin, Harold J. (Jeanie) Dicken of Franklin; three sisters, Barbara S. Blackwell of Franklin, Patricia A. Hayes of Franklin, Margaret J. Hudson of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Justin (Reagan) Bailey of Kansas, Haley Dicken of Franklin, Brady Aldridge of Franklin, Alexandria Aldridge of Franklin, Jacob Bair of California (Marines), Jasmine Adams of Franklin, Dakota Dayton of Edinburgh; three great grandchildren, Jocelyn Bailey, Ava Bailey, Evelyn Bailey of Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm with a funeral service at 12:30 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
