Donald E. Fleenor, age 75 of Indianapolis, died at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. He was born in Brownstown, Indiana on July 21, 1933. On, September 6, 1994, he married Effie Davis (Poole).
Donald was part owner of Indy Service Company and then retired in 1997 from Central Supply Company in Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. His interests were bowling and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife Effie, three sons: Rick (Tina) Fleenor of Illinois; Gary (Jenn) Fleenor of Ft. Wayne; Dale (Carla) Fleenor of Fishers; two daughters: Cynthia Acosta of Franklin and Vickie Thurston of New Whiteland; two step-daughters: Vickie Poole of Dayton, IN and Deborah (Paul) Bravard of Indianapolis. Don also has 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday February 19, 2009 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday February 20th at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made the American Cancer Society.
