Donald F. Pine, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away May 13, 2013. The son of Charles and Emma Grosskopf Pine, Donald was born February 18, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Donald was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WW II earning the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a graduate of Wabash College; retired in 1989 after 27 years as a logistics manager from Union Carbide Corporation. Donald was a 50 year member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop #266 for 20 years, member of Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity at Wabash College and served as secretary of the Union Carbide Corporation Retirees.
Donald is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Schultz Pine of Indianapolis; son, Jeffrey A. (Kelly L.) Pine of Greenwood and daughter, Gayle L. Lang of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Emily Quinn, Ethan and Evan Pine and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 11:00 a.m. May 17, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friend may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. May 16, 2013. Burial with military honors will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
