Donna Harriette Jameison Dalrymple was born June 25, 1923, in Seattle, Washington, and died on October 11, 2015. She was 92. Her parents were James E. and Jessie D. Jameison. After attending elementary and Lincoln High Schools in Seattle, she graduated from Lincoln in 1941. She then attended business college, pursuing a business career, having worked for two banks and a steamship company in Seattle, before her marriage to Marshall in 1947.
After marriage and a move to San Francisco, Mrs. Dalrymple held another secretarial position with a steamship company. This time she worked for the head of the freight department. Later, she was in a civil service position at the United States Air Force Hospital in Pleasanton, California, first as a secretary and then as Office Manager. Two of the doctors there used to toss coins to see which one would dictate to her if she wasn''t busy. She thought that was a nice compliment. After their family arrived, Mrs. Dalrymple again became "The Happy Homemaker". She devoted herself to caring for her husband, children, home and gardens.

During this time, she was also soloist for the Christian Scientist Society (now a church) in Livermore, California, and had previously sung for other Christian Science churches. Donna had a beautiful coloratura soprano singing voice, and perfect pitch. Mrs. Dalrymple had been "into music" since her grade school years, then sang with the Lincoln High School Chanters, Seattle, for three years. After high school, Donna studied singing professionally and was invited to audition for the chorus of the Seattle Civic Opera, but never did. She enjoyed singing in choruses with her husband, as his job positions took him and his family around the country. Mrs. Dalrymple also found time to be assistant Girl Scout and Cub Scout leaders. Donna was also Past Matron of the Eastern Star in 1958. She and her husband also managed apartments in their pre-retirement years. Donna was a Rainbow Girl, and served as Recorder for several years. At her majority service, when she was twenty, Donna was presented with the Grand Cross of Colors, Rainbow''s highest honor, for her work as Recorder. It seems that in all the twenty-some years of the assembly''s existence, hers'' were the only books which balanced!

Mrs. Dalrymple''s husband, Marshall predeceased her in April, 2004. Survivors include Mrs. Marilyn Littlefield, Mrs. Dalrymple''s sister, of Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Mrs. Barbara Critney, of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, James Dalrymple of Cutler Bay, Florida; four grandchildren, two great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Franklin United Methodist Community Residential and Community Care Nursing Home chapel. Arrangements were made through Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
