Donna Lou Merrick, Indianapolis, passed away on August 31, 2022. She was 82 years old. Donna was born in Indianapolis, IN to her parents Carl and Pearl Merrick. She was raised in a large and loving family with seven brothers and sisters whom she was very close with.
Donna worked as a secretary for Social Security and retired after 42 years of dedicated service.
Donna was a lifetime member of the Meridian Church of God since she was 16 years old. She loved to crochet while watching the Colts play. Donna loved her family and enjoyed acting as the family photographer for every generation. Everyone that experienced her warm demeanor lovingly referred to her as Aunt Donna throughout her entire life. She was a wholesome matriarch that was adored by her family and friends and the memories of her will be cherished by those she leaves behind.
Donna is survived by her brothers Carl (Carol) Merrick and Tom (Marsha) Merrick; her niece and caregiver Tracy (Phillip) Woodard; and several additional nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Dorothy (Clyde) West, Anna (Ray) Simmons, Bill (Patsy) Merrick, Thelma (Ernie) Callahan, and Richard (Barbara) Merrick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Todd Wymer and Pastor Daniel Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the services.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022  at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
