Donna Gail (Whitaker) Plummer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 18, 2026. Donna was born on April 30, 1939, to Harold and Cloris (Devore) Whitaker. She graduated from Whiteland High School in 1957. On June 8, 1957, Donna married her loving husband, Marshall Plummer. Together they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a family that would become their greatest pride and joy.

Donna went on to work as a secretary at Eli Lilly. Later, she left this position to focus on her family. Donna became a stay-at-home mom, where she lovingly cared for her sons, Rick and Mike. After successfully raising her boys, she became a Parts Counter Clerk at Harter’s Auto.

Donna was a long-time member of Honey Creek Church in Greenwood, IN. She loved playing ping pong, proudly holding numerous Eli Lilly championship titles. Her competitive spirit extended to her love of games such as Solitaire, newspaper crosswords, word jumbles, Sudoku, Pounce, and Euchre, which she enjoyed with family and friends. A life-long animal lover, Donna had many pets over the years. A few of her furry friends were a stub-tailed cat named Stubby, a black cat named Ninja and a Doberman Pinscher, Baby.

Donna is survived by her two sons, Rick (Dottie) Plummer and Mike (Teresa) Plummer; her grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Plummer, Megan (Arnold) Miyesa, Mason Plummer, and Reilly Plummer; her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nolan, Logan, Ezekiel, Elijah, Eliana, Merrik and Maliyah. Donna is also survived by her siblings, Sharon Losche and Gordon Dale (Lynn) Whitaker, along with several nieces and nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Gene Whitaker, Karen Hiatt, Lynn Whitaker, Andrea Lammert, and Sybil Adrian.

A visitation for Donna will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, Indiana from 12:00 PM to the time of funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 PM.
