Obituary

Mrs. Doris Evelyn Johnson, Brownsburg, passed away on the late evening of Monday, August 16, 2021. She was 100. Doris was born April 14, 1921 in Hope, Indiana, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alpha (Hunter) Davis.

After graduating from high school, Doris met and married the love of her life, J. Ray Johnson. She had been employed at L.S. Ayres and Company as a beautician for several years before and the made the decision to remain at home and care for her family.

Doris was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

She is survived by her children, Pam Johnson Hostetter and Ray (Victoria) Johnson; her grandchildren, Christian (Becky) Johnson, Bryon Johnson, Kimberly (Chad) Robards, Joseph Johnson, Sara Hostetter, Susan (Dane) Carter, Jeff (Jordan Wirth) Hostetter, Abby (Zach Jones) Hostetter, Heather (Javier) Morera, Cyndie (David) Whitmore and Brittany (Ken) Fisher; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, J. Ray Johnson; her son, Jay Alan Johnson; her granddaughter, Natalie Johnson; two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with Pastor Dan Rasmussen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
