Doris Mae Baker, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away October 27, 2013. Born March 3, 1930 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Earl Miller and Iva Pettit Fredericks.
Retiring in 1996 after 20 years, Doris was a caretaker at St. George Orthodox Church. Doris was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors: daughters, Paula D. (Russ) Bierstedt of Oceanside, California, Susie (Johnnie) Conlin of Indianapolis and Mary R. (Larry) Ragon of Indianapolis; sons, Paul R. (Gail) Baker, Jr. of Greenfield, Frederick E. (Kathy) Baker of Eugene, Oregon, James P. Baker of Indianapolis, Richard K. (Jan) Baker of Shelbyville and Joseph M. Baker of Minnesota; brother, Maurice Miller of Greensburg, 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul R. Baker, Sr.; step-father, Art Fredericks; brothers, Walter F. Miller and Earl Miller; sisters, Rosa Faulk and Vivian Basey; grandsons, Howard and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Madeline, Hope, Tyler and Alyssa.
Rev. Lawrence Janezic will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. October 31, 2013 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church - 1530 Union Street. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 30, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where a rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
