Doris Laverne (Bahn) Potter passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1931, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Raymond John and Essie Mae (McCandrew) Bahn. On April 5, 1952, she married Carl Richard Potter. They had four children: Stephen Carl Potter, Kenneth Richard Potter, Thomas William Potter and Susan Louise Potter. They lived in Michigan, Minnesota and settled in Indiana in1962.
Doris was a Cub Scout Den leader for her sons and involved in her daughter's Girl Scout Troop. She loved spending time outside in her beautiful flower garden when the kids were growing up. She and Carl enjoyed square and round dancing, bowling and going on vacations. Their favorite trip was to Hawaii in 1982. Doris enjoyed spending a week each summer with all her grandchildren, taking all of them to the zoo, amusement park, Paramount Music Palace, water park and Pizza King.
Doris worked at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for 30 years as a Unit Secretary on the surgery floor. She was a member and volunteer at Oasis of Indianapolis and Noblesville Senior Citizens.
Doris leaves behind her four children: Stephen (Mary) Potter, Kenneth (Joyce) Potter, Thomas (Sue) Potter and Susan Silberberg; ten grandchildren: Shannon (Evan) Potter, Kristen (Travis) Bloom, Brandon (Michelle) Potter, Amanda (Matt) Potter, David Silberberg, Debra (Brendan) Kovac, Diane (Seth) Handy, Carl Potter, Sarah (Chandler) Kehoe, and Jake Potter; seven great grandchildren Drake Potter, Callie Potter, Blake Bloom, Brynn Bloom, Rhett Handy, Charlie Kovac and Cullen Kehoe.
A Private Family Service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana will be held. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
