Obituary

Dorothy "Dotti" Sue Peek, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away May 27, 2015. The daughter of Donald J. and Thelma L. Young Brown, Dotti was born November 7, 1934 in Indianapolis.

Dotti was a graduate of the Class of 1952 of Franklin Central High School, attended IUPUI, as well as various theatre seminars and master classes.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Franklin Township Civic League, Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce, Epilogue Players, Indiana Community Theatre League (ICTL), American Association of Community Theatres (AACT) and a founding member of Buck Creek Players. Dotti and her late husband, Jack, were involved with the Wanamaker Volunteer Fire Department.

In recent years, she worked for the Franklin Central Christian Church. Previously, she worked for IUPUI Theatre and Edyvean Repertory Theatre; served as editor for the Franklin Township Informer, various theatres, churches and community organizations. She drove school bus for Franklin Township School Corporation and delivered for Sandy''s Flowers and later for Steve''s Flowers & Gifts. She worked as secretary and receptionist for the former Stirling - Gerber Funeral Home, Veal Insurance Agency and Mahoney Chevrolet. Dotti was an active volunteer with local and state theatre and with Buck Creek Players over 40 years.

Dotti is survived by son, Jack D. "Donnie" Peek, II; daughters, Susie Leach and Jenny L. Peek; sister, Donna L. Joyce; granddaughters, Jessica C. Hunter, Jacinda D. Peek, Casey R. Leach and Ashley E. Peek and great-grandchildren, Sierra J. and Dayton A. Hunter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Peek and sister, Janet R. Fallowfield Sheets.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. May 31, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church - 6630 Southeastern Avenue. The family will also hold a Celebration of Life Gathering at 6:00 p.m. on June 7, 2015 at Buck Creek Players - 11150 Southeastern Avenue.
