Dorothy Irene (Manning) Francis, 80, of Indianapolis passed away in the early morning of August 3.  She was born June 26, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late George and Mary (Ratliff) Manning.

Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, married to her late husband, Carl Francis, for nearly 53 years before his passing in 2016.  She worked in the cafeteria of Southport High School to keep busy.  She and her husband enjoyed gardening together, and Carl is now showing her his garden in heaven.  Dorothy was most proud of her three children, Jennifer, David, and Greg, whom she adored.

Dorothy will be forever remembered by her children, Jennifer (Craig) Browder, David Francis, and Greg Francis; granddaughter, Cassie Dillon; brothers, John, Chuck and Dan Manning; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Becky Dillon; and nine siblings.

Family will receive friends from 3:00pm - 7:00pm Monday, August 9 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN  46143.  Funeral service will take place Tuesday, August 10 at 12:00pm, also at Forest Lawn.
