Dorothy Christine Tucker Whitmore, 94, of Spencer, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away June 4, 2017. Dorothy was born February 4, 1923 in Allen County, Kentucky, the daughter of Robert W. and Lelia L. Johnson Harston.

For a short period, she was a beautician, working from her home. From 1945 to 1976, she owned and operated D. C. Tucker Trucking. She was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, John S. (Peggy) Tucker of Spencer; grandchildren, John S. Tucker, Tania Osborn and Waylon Tucker; eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, John Tucker and Donald Whitmore; brothers, Chester, Stanley, Roy and Willard Harston and sisters, Lillian Patton, Jewell Stewart, Eillene Beasley, Lois Begley, Pauline Meyers, Mary Joyce Harston and Hattie Mae Tinsley.

Funeral services 1:00 p.m. June 7, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
