Dorothy Marie Farrar, age 93, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016. She was born August 25, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, IN to William C. and Elizabeth Mattingly. She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School with the Class of 1940. Dorothy was a member of Alethia Church and the Greenwood Senior Citizens. She loved to quilt, do puzzles, listen to audio books, play cards and fish. She is dearly loved by all who know her and will be sorely missed.
Dorothy married Clarence A. Farrar on September 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by sons, Clarence Wayne, James Lee and John David Farrar; 10 brothers and one sister. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Susan Maree (Mark) Wyatt of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Linda Farrar of Southport; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on June 27, 2106 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Social of Greenwood Senior Center, 550 Polk St, Greenwood, IN 46143.
