Dorothy "Dottie" N. Ross, 103, of Franklin, went to heaven on June 17, 2021. She was born on February 24th, 1918 to Henry and Elesta (Terrill) Clampitt in Amo, Indiana.

Dorothy married Clayton Weddell in 1938. After the passing of her husband, who was killed in action during World War II, Dorothy found love again with Harold "Bud" Ross, whom she married in 1948. Dorothy and Bud loved to travel and spend time with their family and grandchildren.

Dorothy held a variety of jobs during her lifetime. She worked at a tomato canning factory during the war era. Dorothy also worked at Koch News in Indianapolis, which she retired from in 1980. She also worked at Hardee's and Bob Evans years later after she initially retired because sitting still wasn't something Dorothy did well. She loved making biscuits and worked at Bob Evans until she was 85! After retirement, she continued to keep herself busy with traveling and volunteering. She loved her trips with "Travel with Bill" and went on them often. She loved going to new places and being around her friends. She volunteered at Greenwood Village and knitted hats for the newborn babies at the local hospitals. Dorothy was also a member of the "Red Hat Society."

Dorothy lived a full life and persevered through over 100 years of challenges. Dorothy lived through the Spanish Flu, World War I & World War II, the Great Depression , the deaths of her husband(s) and her children.

Dorothy's greatest accomplishments were her children; Marshall, Barbara, Peggy, and Glen. She also was very proud of her thirteen grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and twenty great, great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Weddell and Harold Ross; children, Marshall and Barbara.

Family will have visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday, June 21 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Funeral will be Tuesday, June 22 at 11:00 at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 N. Madison Avenue, Greenwood, IN  46142. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood United Methodist Church or AseraCare Hospice.
