Dorothy A. Smith, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away in her sleep April 17, 2011. She was 87 years old. She was the wife of Orphus Smith, who preceded her in death in 2009. They were married 68 years. She worked in the school cafeteria for Perry Township Schools for nearly 20 years. She loved holidays and enjoyed family, friends and life in general. Besides being a loving wife and mother, she enjoyed many roles over the years as a scout leader, political precinct committee person, arts and crafts enthusiast, reading and spending time with her card club friends. Her love of life and family will always be cherished. She is survived by her children, Keith (Cindy) Smith; Kenton (Beverly)Smith; and Karen (Don) Anderson, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn''s Mausoleum (Ben Franklin Chapel) Greenwood, on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. with a burial immediately following. www.forestlawncemetery-fh.com
