Mrs. Dottie Jean DuBridge, Greenwood, passed away on the early morning of Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was 86. She was born March 22, 1938 in Leitchfield, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William and Gracie (Whoobrey) Hack. Dottie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dedicated her life to Jesus and caring for her family.
Dottie loved to learn and extended her education by attending classes throughout her adulthood. She was an avid crafter and found joy in making flower arrangements, but her speciality was making small Christmas trees out of coat hangers. Dottie also enjoyed nature and loved working outside with her flowers and listening to the birds sing. Dottie loved to sing gospel hymns and found joy in reading her Bible. She attended Lakeview Assembly of God in Indianapolis.
Dottie never met a stranger, and was a social butterfly. She had a big heart, opened her home and helped people in need. She was known for her warm hospitality, especially during holidays and family gatherings, where her famous banana pudding was always a hit. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she celebrated it with extraordinary enthusiasm.
Dottie is survived by her children, Vickie J. Burdine, Danny L. DuBridge, Christine R. (Raul Monroy) DuBridge and Crystal R. l (Christopher) Henry; her grandchildren, Benjamin (Lila) Burdine, Travis DuBridge, Connor, Carson, Caelyn Heny, Naomi Monroy. Great grandchild Clementine Burdine and her siblings, Ernest Hack, Jewel Brooks, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in passing by her beloved husband of over 52 years, Walter S. DuBridge, and several of Dotties brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
