Douglas Rhea Van Dyke 80, formerly of Indianapolis presently of Port Charlotte, FL. passed away July 10, 2010. He was born in Southport, IN. March 31, 1930 to the late Everett and Opal (Littleton) Van Dyke. Douglas was a 1948 graduate of Center Grove High school; he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950-1954 aboard the USS Washburn in the Korean War. He then went on to pursue a career with Eli Lily located in Greenfield from 1957 until 1986. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Van Dyke; one son, Chris Van Dyke; two grandchildren, Adam and Sam Van Dyke. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 S. State Rd. 135 Greenwood, IN. A service will be held on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery.
