Eddie Franklin Soots, 77, of Franklin, IN formerly of Arcadia, FL passed away April 30, 2016. Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957 - 1963. He was a member of BPOE Deep Creek, Florida, American Legion, Danville, AMVETS, and The Moose Lodge in Indiana and Florida. Eddie was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating and camping and was a fan of NASCAR. He also enjoyed playing cards, euchre, dancing and karaoke.

Eddie is survived by his children, James (Crissy) Soots of Mooresville, Mark (Melanie) Soots of Pittsboro, Gregory (Jennifer) Soots of Laconia, Dan Vangundy of Greenfield, Tim Vangundy of Camby, Todd Vangundy of Plainfield Patricia (Alan) Moore of Mooresville, Melissa (Michael) Samples of Franklin and Edie (Ryan) Watts of Greenwood; sisters, Audrey (Don) Martin of Paragon and Mildred Poland of Indianapolis; 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 11 am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
